Who we are, What we do.
Thomas Martlet Ltd is a small independent cultural tour operator owned and run by Simon and Christopher Monckton.
We plan, research and lead art, architecture, history and music tours throughout most of Europe and beyond. The groups are small - usually around 20 people; we wear our learning lightly: the atmosphere is friendly and humorous. We take great care in the choice of hotels, transport and all other arrangements to ensure you feel comfortable and at ease at all times. Your Hosts
We have lived for a quarter of a century on the shores of the Mediterranean, the cradle of European culture: we have spent 25 summers and winters studying the evolution of that culture in libraries, in art galleries, and on archaeological sites all over Europe, the Middle East, and beyond; 25 springs and 25 autumns leading tours - our own or other peoples - in Europe and elsewhere. The fruit of that research and our reflection is contained in our tours and lectures.
In addition we are also both classical musicians performing locally and further afield. To read more about us go to
